FreakShee Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) 4 mill you don't have to trench your cases. If you go 7 your better off just going 10mill I already have freshly fully Built 10mill Trex engine/override/clutch..etc on the box. Will the cubs fit directly on the cases or I will need new cases don't you think 10mill cub would be too much on street/pavement ? Btw..I wanna stick with pumpgas ( 93 octane ) Edited July 19, 2012 by FreakShee Quote
RadarRacing Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 10 mil cub too much for street and pavement????? Uh NO. The difference in a 4 mil cub or a 7 or a 10 mil cub is only about 5-10 horsepower. If your cases are trenched for a 10 then stick a 10 mil on it. Now the average 10 mil cub is a good step up from most Trex motors although the good Trex's can be good runners. Quote
FreakShee Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 What about super cubs? Then I will need cub cylinders, pistons, head studs..etc bigger carbs, cable, airfilters intake manifold vforce reeds inframe pipes The Trex has 76mm bore if I'm not mistaken and it is match with the cases...do u think I will need cases for the cubs or super cubs since they have smaller bore ? Pasi S. Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Are you going to keep your 10mill Trex motor and making a new second motor? What kind of riding you do on streets? Quote
FreakShee Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 I wanna convert the 10mill Trex to 10mill cub/supercub drag and rolling races Quote
J-Madd Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 If the case studs are in the factory location, and the cases have not been bored, you should be able to bolt up Cub Cylinders no problem. I'm gonna guess the cases have been bored for the 76 mm bore though. Maybe someone else can confirm. Quote
PassionRE Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I wanna convert the 10mill Trex to 10mill cub/supercub drag and rolling races Sounds like alot of extra work, your 10mill T-Rex can be built to run with any Cub. Quote
FreakShee Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 The problem that the engine is built/ported for alky but I want to go with pumpgas now. Is it all about changing domes and get new carbs and that's it??? Quote
lms1977 Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 More than likely you cases are bore to big for the super cub being there 72mm piston. The trex is a 76mm it is probably a little to big? Not sure it would work the way it should? Also you would need to know what rod length you have to make sure it will work with the cub or super cub.. Quote
FreakShee Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) I think I will stick with Trex now but drop the compression and get carbs for gas I will keep it for rolling races on street/pavement it has 120mm rods What max bore on Trex? Edited July 21, 2012 by FreakShee Quote
