hunt3rm008 Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 i just started putting my top end back together after getting my cylinders bored and honed and i was torqueing everything to 20ft lbs gradually and it was all good until i put the head on and one of the bolts will not torque to 20ft lbs. every single other bolt is perfect except one. it just keeps spinning but is pretty tight. do you guys think i am fine to run it like this? if i do what am i risking? thanks, Quote
ban565 Posted June 24, 2012 Report Posted June 24, 2012 It will not hold up. You need to put a sleeve in the hole or helicoil the hole. If you heilcoil the hole I would recommend setting the heilcoil with liquid thread. Went the same problem with my cousins banshee. Quote

Jereme6655 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 how do i put a sleeve in it? and what is a heilcoil? a helicoil is a replacement thread that goes down into the hole and locks into the stripped out hole. since you asked about what a helicoil is i would suggest taking it to a machine shop.....just tell them you need it helicoiled and they'll know what you mean.....usually they're pretty cool and wont charge you more than $20 Quote
