WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I am not mechanically inclined to do that, and dont want to waste the money on finding out. I was looking into motor rebuilds, and chrome casings etc, but everthing is so expensive. Also, I can't believe that new A-arms and shocks cost around 3 grand. If your not mechanically inclined, you should just sell it and buy a 4-stroke. Banshees require a thinker who can spin the wrenches. Buy a manual, read EVERYTHING you can on this site till you start to get what everyone is talking about, as questions when you need to and you just might LEARN the necessary mechanical ability. But if you are the type that cross threads the cap on the toothpaste every morning...........your going to be spending a lot of money paying someone to keep your machine running. Quote
DirtDiggler69 Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 How to know if your motor is bored? It sits around yawning all the time? Mine grabs its tether switch and demands to go play outside ...... Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 Just about any Banshee is fast. Some are just faster than others. As to being bored, you wont know until you take it apart, and by the sounds of things that will be quite a while for you and your abilities . Get a Clymers repair manual and read it. JMHO, your results may, and will vary. Quote

That about sums it up lol. To check your "back bearings"(carrier bearings) just jack the rear up and wiggle the axle. If its bad you will feel it. Quote
