slowpoke36382
Hey guys, just wanted to get your opinion here. Got my first banshee and have been totally working it over replacing almost everything on it the guy before me messed up. I recently decided to go with HJR for a 4 mil kit. The stock jugs aren't in the best shape and i suspect the guy ported them hinself. but Kevin said he might be able to cross them over to work with the 4 mil. I'm wondering if I should just go with a new set of ported cub cylinders with it or just see how the stock ones work out. What kind of advantages/ disadvantages to both setups can I expect? Mostly gonna use it for trail/mx. DMC 916's, 34 or 35mm pj carbs, not sure which ones, dual pod filters also. Also going to get a cool head with stroker domes. Thanks for the help. slowpoke36382
Want it to run on pump gas also, so any help with compression would be cool. I guess kevin will be able to help me out with that though. Live on the gulf coast at sea level.

RadarRacing
DO NOT GET A CUB OR DRAG PORTED CYLINDERS , plain and simple. They do not make a bike more fun to ride on trails and mx period. Its not that they are too much of a good thing and a real man can control it. A pump gas cub will not have anything in the low and mid where you would want it. I would rather ride a stock unported 350 on a mx track than a cub. Talk to Kevin and just have him do what he recommends for you for the type of riding you wanna do. A good stock cylinder setup with good low and midrange will be very fun and an improvement in power eveeywhere over the stocker. Kevin is a good trustworthy guy and will do a kickass setup for ya. rjdgriff
Get a serval if you want the low and mid power
RadarRacing
Absolutely would recommend a serval too. More power everywhere.
slowpoke36382
What is the difference between the 421cc cub kit and a serval?
Dahl87banshee
The serval has lower port timing than the cub. It's supposed to be a torquey set up instead of the cub the come on later in the rpm range. Not to mention I don't think dmc916's would do much on a cub. A serval they would work good though probably.

ClayAiken
Id port the stock cyls for 4mil its alot cheaper and the numbers between stock and serv arent enough for me to justify that much more money.
slowpoke36382
Yeah I'm going to send him the stock cylinders and see if he can work with them and go from there. Definitely would like to save as much $ as possible.
slowpoke36382
Just for clarification, are the cub and serval the same set of cylinders ported differently or totally different set of jugs?
