need help with serval jetting
slowpoke36382 replied to slowpoke36382's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Also, if I were to upgrade my carbs what would be a good choice with my setup? -
hey guys need some help jetting my 421 serval. I have dmc 916's, K&N pods with outerwear and 35 mm pj carbs at sea level. The throttle is kind of flat before it winds up and I think it is the needles that need adjusting. I have 160 mains, 52 pilots and the needle says "CGL." Not sure if the needle is aftermarket or keihin...Any help is appreciated.

Clutch basket and primary drive question
slowpoke36382 replied to slowpoke36382's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah and it said to keep the same lash numbers. The new primary drive gear had like 90 written on it but the big gear on the basket I couldn't find a number. I haven't ran it in 8 months been rebuilding and it's my first banshee so I don't know that if it's moving fast you won't hear it but when you just turn it slow it definitely clunks. -
Clutch basket and primary drive question

No brand new -
Hey guys i asked this question a while back but never really got an answer. I replaced my clutch basket ( with another stock one) and primary drive gear. In the clymer manual it says to replace these as a matched set. I just ordered them online and did not specify about matching them. Just installed it today and when you turn the basket it makes a clunk clunk clunk noise, the gears bottoming out against each other. Can anyone help me out here?
-
Yeah, honestly I don't think that UPS did it. I think it was dropped in chaparrals shop but oh well, gotta go through the motions. I think the gear is in ok shape though, its one of the teeth on the basket that got sheared off. I guess I could just take the gear off the broken basket and put it on a different basket. Specialblend, did your shee shift better/worse/same with the straight cuts?

Hey guys, I recently ordered an oem clutch basket from chaparral. When it got here the basket was broken, guess someone dropped it along the way. It's got me thinking now though of maybe going with a billet basket for my serval. The only thing is I would either have to wait on the oem basket to be replaced so I can rob the gear off of it or buy the straight cuts. What do y'all think is the best way to go here? How loud are the straight cuts? I have been waiting 3 weeks for ups to to get back with me on the broken part. Sick of waiting.

Oorah devils. Getting my 4 mil serval from Kevin this week. Can't wait! -
is there somewhere you can just order the gear by itself to attach it to the aftermarket basket though?
-
ok cool thanks

I need to replace my clutch and I read in the Clymer's manual that you need to replace the clutch basket and primary drive gear as a set. What exactly does that mean? Would I be fine just ordering both oem parts online and they match up? Also, when you get an aftermarket basket how do you attach the gear, can you just use the old one? Thanks

Hey guys, I recently purchased a +4 mil mx/trail serval cub setup from HJR. I bought this thing from a guy who had the stock jugs drag ported with t-3's 34 or 35 mm pjs and dual pod filters. This guy was a compulsive liar and said that thing made like 70 hp and told me all kinds of shit. Anyway I just want to know what the realistic before and after difference between hp will be. Running DMC 916's now.

Hey guys I was wondering for mx style jumps will my stock axle with offset rims so they stick out a little further hold up or do they bend easy?

Cool thanks

4 mil stock cylinders or cub?
slowpoke36382 replied to slowpoke36382's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
So can anyone tell me if the serval/cub 421 setup are different cylinders altogether or the same jugs ported differently? -
Well, I bought my shee and have not gotten to ride it at all since I tore it down as soon as I got it. I stripped it to the frame, sand blasted it, got it powdercoated, all new bearings and seals, clutch basket, axle, sprocket hubs, rims, and on and on and on... I liked the way the DMC's sounded and figured they would be good for woods riding/mx so I bought a new set. Just wanted to know how they worked for in that area for anyone who has them. Sending my stock cylinders to HJR to get cleaned up for the 4 mil and hopefully Kevin can save them as they have been ported previously, a home job by the previous owner I think...But anyway just wanted to know how they worked for anybody in those particular settings...Thanks for any info.
