So I have been thinking lately that us banshee owners need an updated rear caliper. We got the fronts from the yfz no prob. I think its a great idea to make a bracket that fits round house carriers that will allow us to run the newer dual piston caliper for the rear also. What do you guys think? I'im sure if we show some interest one of our great sponsors will take care of this for us.

That would be a cool idea. It be a tough one though a few bucks. You're best bet would be JDS.

I have not looked at it too close but it can't be too bad . I almost bought a rear caliper from a yfz just to see what it would take to do it . Who ever would like to take on this task I will be the first to purchase one .

Very true but when I ride someone else bike and there's something better about it I want to make mine as good or better. I know the banshee is ancient but nothing does for me what shee does. So if I can make her better I will or at least try.

get some nice rotors from JD.

a complete YFZ front brake system will help out.

 

but a stock rear is all you need. you dont need anything more in the rear. a working stock rear set up works just perfect.

 

 

Got the full fronts. Calipers and master cylinder and braided lines. sometimes I need some more stopping power . These Banshees do well over a hundred mph. LOLOLOLOL

rear brakes are useless. you just need good fronts.

 

70%+ of your stopping power comes from the front brakes.

 

What about those of us who don't run front brakes? Not so useless now... HA!

if you dont care about a parking brake, snag a right front yfz caliper off ebay and put it on the back like drag boys do with a RF banshee caliper?

 

 

and for anyone who has spend any time riding at high speeds in the twisties, rear brake fade is an issue and i have a fancy rotor and EBC pads. i use my fronts mainly to keep the bike from rotating too far while sliding a corner and the rears to slow and then sometimes to get the bike to slide.

I think the answer is 80% of total stopping power is front brakes. Thats actually a question on your MSF riders course test.

 

Does a dual piston caliper really add that much potential? I mean, touching the back brakes really just locks them up anyways.

I think this is a great idea, not b/c the stock back brakes sucks or anything because they work good. I slow wheelie my banshee a lot so I always use my back brakes. Gas,brake,gas,brake,gas,brake for however long I want to ride the wheelie. I feel just having other options for brakes just adds to the rest of great parts will already have.

we have ultralight caliper mounting brackets. Maybe I could modify our program to accept a yfz or 250r caliper ect for those who want a dual piston caliper.
