tedd1 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 There is a pipe that connects your water pump to the hose that goes up between the carbs. There is an o ring on that pipe between the cases. Quote

tedd1 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Yes, pop the clutch cover and you will see. If that orings appears to be in place and intact, it is time to rebuild your water pump. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Either the O ring or pump seal will leak coolant into oil if they are bad. Quote
421venom Posted March 7, 2012 Author Report Posted March 7, 2012 Ok i will get that checked out thankx alot guys Quote
ticktock Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Oring and water pump seal. Let us know the outcome! Quote
atcandbanshees Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I thought mine was just that o ring it ended up being the water pump seal so check to see if its that's while your cover is off also Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 But if that o ring is bad can antifreeze get to the oil? I thought they were separate cuz its transmission oil The oil in the tranny is common with the clutch, you fill the tranny by putting it in through the clutch cover. With the clutch cover off look at your cases along the bottom either behind or beside the clutch basket, those holes let the oil transfer between the clutch area and the tranny. Also, when you check the tranny oil, the dipstick actually goes into the clutch area. Your leak has to be either the O ring or water pump seal as either will let it leak into the clutch area. Quote
