Coupelx Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Just got a seal that goes behind the front sprocket and was wondering if this is a hard thing to change. pull the sprocket and the sleeve behind it that the seal rides on. pop seal out. reassemble in reverse order. Quote
CruelSoul Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Flat headed screwdriver to pull out correct, and then maybe a socket and a mallet to reinstall? Quote
Coupelx Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 yep. a bit a sealer doesnt hurt to lubricate and seal it. Quote
CruelSoul Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Yeah I figured a little bit of grease too wonder how long it has been bad doesn't leak out until I took out that spacer behind the front srpocket lol Quote
Jrod324 Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Hey guys is this the part needed to change when you have a transmission leak on the right lower side of the bike? Quote
Starwriter Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Hey guys is this the part needed to change when you have a transmission leak on the right lower side of the bike? No, the sprocket is on the left side of the motor. If you have a leak on the right side, it's either the clutch cover gasket or cracked cases. Clean it well, run it a bit and look for where it's coming from. Quote

Starwriter Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 what about kickstarter seal? I thought of that, but if the OP can't see oil running all the way down the side of the clutch cover, he needs to sell it and buy a skatebord so he can go play haky sack with his buddies. Quote

I rode it today and it looks like its leaking from the right lower side through the gasket and from the water pump on the clutch cover but it only leaks alot when riding/hot... You think a new gasket will fix the leak or its not that simple?? And what cases are were you talking about? Quote
Jereme6655 Posted October 27, 2013 Report Posted October 27, 2013 oh boy.....the "cases" that he is talking about are the engine cases......as in these are built in 2 piece engine blocks and then sealed between them and bolted together. Quote
