PoorBanshee Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 so im replacing the crank on my stock banshee because it blew up. anyways i took the two transmission shafts out and cleaned out the case...i didntmess with any of the forks at all. my quetion simply is does it matter how i put the two transmission shafts in as long as the forks are in the right spots, in other words do they need to be lined up with each other or jut lay them in there? Larry's Shee Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) Welcome to BHQ!! This is the reason you should either have a Clymers or download manual. I can't think of short way to describe how to, basically the forks go onto the coresponding gear. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=140912 https://docs.google.com/a/amberwaystables.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B0CQb1pV1ycgMDQ3NjQ4ZTUtMjRlMC00Y2UwLTlkNzctNGY4ZGIxYjZhMDI1 There you go easy as pie. These are on tech page Edited February 17, 2012 by Larry's Shee Quote
PoorBanshee Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) i have the forks where they need to be, im just curious if the two shafts need to be timed together or lined up with each other in a certian way Edited February 18, 2012 by PoorBanshee Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 They line up off the roller underneath. I think that's what your asking about. Quote
PoorBanshee Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 so as long as the forks are in the right place im ready to go? Quote
ticktock Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 so as long as the forks are in the right place im ready to go? Yup, that is correct. Just dont forget your two halfmoon clips that hold the bearings in. One big and one small. There is also one on the crank shaft. Without any of these you will have problems. Manual download in my sig Adam Quote
camatv Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 better clean your cases better, or your going to end up with an air leak Quote
PoorBanshee Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 yeah i got all the silicone off unlike the pic Quote
camatv Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 cool its not silicone. use yamabond on it the grey stuff OR import grey from any autoparts store. Quote
PoorBanshee Posted February 19, 2012 Author Report Posted February 19, 2012 im gonna use threebond Quote
2strokenit Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Hey guys, since your talking about transmissions do you know if the gears from an RZ engine will fill in the banshee. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Yes they'll fit but you have to replace al the gears at the same time to RZ gears as they are a different gear ratio. Quote
2strokenit Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 What about the shift drum? I heard the one from the RZ has roller bearings to improve shifting. Would it be easier to use the complete bottom end of the RZ other than the stator and flywheel and put the banshee cylinders on it? Any other differences I should know about. Thanks for the info. Larry's Shee Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 1. Is finding RZ stuff. 2. Is affording it RZ stator needs a rectifier/regulator, maybe battery. RZ is wide ratio. Seems I've seen talk on here of modding cases for roller brg drum, have to check with some builders. Quote
2strokenit Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 I have a complete bottom end from a RZ thats why I was wondering what would fit and not fit. Thanks for the info, it will come in handy. Thanks again. Quote
