What a steal....like was said earlier you have unlimited knowledge on here, these guys are great ask as many questions as possible. You might get some dumb answers from some people but somone will jump in and help you out

So, if your bud broke a piston, where did the pieces go? If they went down inside, then your also talking about splitting the cases! SORRY! $500 is a frickin steal though, even if you gotta tear into the bottom end! While your in there, you might as well check the crank and bearings, the rod bearings etc, seals etc........just for safety!

what kind of riding you going to be doing? are you looking to do a complete restore? if you do alot of trails id say slap some tires all new bearings . If your doing a new topend already and you just bought this id split the case and see what else needs to be done. Dont want to put money in a new topend and have something else go out banghead .... If your going total rebuild id say strip it down to the frame and skye is the limit. I did a total rebuild on my bike and couldnt be happier, you will learn alot from this site. congrats on the new bike also 500 bucks is a steal.

Im mainly going to riding trails and a little mx track by my buddies house. Im buying a new front end; bearings, a arms, and that good stuff. Probably going to open the case tomorrow after work. Is there anything thats going to make this process easy in me. My service manual didnt cone in yet.
