bansheeryder21
I am having a 421 cub 4 mil built by Kevin at Herr Jugs Racing this week. My question is about gearing. It fully ported on avgas. I was going to run 14-38. Im running 14-40 right now on a HJR ported duner. I will be riding at Glamis duning, draging, and hill shooting. Let me know what you recommend. bansheeryder21
I did ask him. He said to try 14-38. I wanted to see some other set ups and get a few opinions and ideas.
pabansheematt
First thing i'd do is get rid of the AV gas. I tried it myself, and my bike ran horrible.
bansheeryder21
Irrelevant from my thread, but I've been on avgas ever since HJR built my motor. Detuned once for pump gas and hated it. Pump gas lacks too much power. Anyways.....back to the gearing question.
pabansheematt
What tire size are you running? How many paddles?
locogato11283
This is going to depend on swingarm length, tires and rider weight.
bansheeryder21
22x11x8 Hauler 8 paddle, +4 swing arm, and weigh 155lbs.
locogato11283
In that case, I think 14-38 is on the low scale. You're light enough and only running an 8 paddle tire that I think you can go higher with the gearing if you want. It just depends on how you ride and what you intend to be doing the most of. bada450r
+6 swinger, 21x10x8 9 paddle extreme, and 15 front 42 rear sprocket. x2 on the gearing and you can also try 10 or 11 regular haulers. blanco your bike looks just like mine and were running almost the same set up...if we ever see each other we'll have to line them up.....
