escobar Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 plugs are brand new. It runs so poorly I can barley ride it 10 mph. It just smokes like crazy and has no power. I'll take a video tomorrow, sounds like the choke is stuck on and it isnt getting air or something. I had it premixed to 20:1. thought it was way too rich so I leaned it down to 40:1 and it still does it. Quote

Yea I did check that yesterday and they were in right..I thought they were wrong but the curved edge was facing the rear. I think I have a jet issue..they are stock sizes. What do you think would be a good one to try for the k and n filter and everything else stock? A 220 or 240? And then a 27 pilot? Quote
Bkm2006 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 P should be stock unless u have pipes 25.... Needle on middle clip and if ur plugs look black and really wet go down a size on main jet. You should do a plug chop Quote
escobar Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 Ok, I went ahead and put the bigger of the 2 pilot jets in, I will swap back to oem size. I will do a plug chop as well and post the pics. You think I should go down a size? Not bigger? Like a 210? Quote

Like a 210? okay.....you got me confused.......you should keep the stock pilot jets (25) unless you put pipes on it. if you put pipes on it you should go up to a 27.5 pilot. also it depends what elevation your at to help aid in jet sizing. around here (1200-1400) feet about sea-level.....i'd suggest around a 220-230. Also do you have your choke tube in place between the carbs? and on the right nipple?....ive seen where someone once got their choke tube on the carb boss's that are in the same area. and is your tors disconnected? (if not unplug the little black box that is under the gas tank on the left side.....then try and ride it) is your filter clean? a really really plugged up or over oiled filter will also plug up the intake like a freak. check....try and describe the exact sounds/feelings......then report back... I have stock headers on it and aftermarket silencers and I have the choke hose attached correctly. My elevation is about 900 feet. Tors is all gone, I did the elimination kit and I just cleaned the filter completely. Im going to take a video and post it. thanks Quote
escobar Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) here is a video, it cranks right up but has no power, smokes bad as you can see and wont idle. Edited December 14, 2011 by escobar Quote
HIDEF Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 did the bike run good before you did the tors elimination and rebuild ? or were you having issues with it before the work was done ? Quote
escobar Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 It was running pretty strong. It didn't idle and the Yamaha shop I had look over it said the carbs needed to be rebuilt and I figured I would why I had them off for the tors elimination. Im going to put the stock #25 pilot jet in tomorrow and see what that does.. Quote
escobar Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 Also, my airbox has a few broken clips, I think im just going to run it without it. How much do you think that will effect the jet size? thanks Quote
escobar Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 I figured it out, it was the pilot jet. It was wayyy to big. Thanks for all your help! Quote
