air filter/stinger clearence

So ive never ran filters this big, my question to people that have run one's this big/bigger is, will running them without wrapping the stingers with something melt my outerwears or not? They're brand new and i dont wanna screw em up, thanks in advance.

As long as the Outerwear's stay off of the stingers, they won't melt. Mine are much closer than that, and don't melt.

Mine are closer then that, and it does melt my Outerwears. It frustrates me so much that I've been looking into running a modified air box.

my fileters touch my stingers and they dont melt

Either run cascades exhaust wraps or get angled filters. Larger filters tend to come out higher towards the stingers but the angled filters have a 20* angle to them to run flatter. K&Ns available in srltraight and angled also available at cascade

Cascade heat wrap only on the LH exhaust stinger. Running CPI's with a Boss Racing intake, PWK33's and 10 deg angled K&N's. 20 deg was to much.

Thanks for the pics and stuff guy's, it appears it should be fine to run it, they are angled filters and that's as far away as i can get them from the stingers.
