ScEaMin BaNsheE 305 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 never used a spark arrestor, do they affect performance? Quote
jbooker82 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I don't really notice much when I have mine in and they are clean. When they start to plug up with packing and oil they cause problems. That's why I don't recommend shoving a screen over the end of the core and putting the end cap back on. Its a pain to remove to clean, and there is less screen surface area so it plugs up faster. 87sheerips Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 heres the easy way to do it. May have to trim the center silencer tube to get them to fit behind the end cap but thats it. http://www.jdscustoms.com/product/spark-arrestor-kit-screen-style-general-use/ Quote

Im not sure I want to do that. I am going to remove end caps and see what all is entailed. I have 2 SS sink drains I may see if they work without modifying. Quote

barry1me Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 I tried removing the stock end cap on the CPIs last night and I cant remove them. They are jammed in there tight. Anyone have any suggestions on removal tips? I dont want to marr up or gouge the cap just to remove them. Quote
jbooker82 Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 Tap them on the side with a rubber mallet. You want glancing motion so it helps pop it out. Keep turning and repeating. Quote
