chetgoff Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 putting my motor back together and the idler gear seams a little sloppy on the shaft. not shure if that is how it was before or not. It's not the shaft in the bearing it's the idle gear itself. just curious if this is how they are or if something is wrong. Quote
AKheathen Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 the kicker idler gear has a bushing on the inside which does wear out quite notoriously. check out fast, i belive they have them, or the whole gear in stock for cheap Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 STOP and fix it now. The idler gear should have no play in it. The bushing is worn and needs replaced. FAST sells everything you need to fix it right. Here's how it goes... Washer > Idler Gear (new bushing) > Notched washer > Clip When there is play in the idler gear it can cause the gear to kick off the clip and washer. If that stuff gets caught up in the basket you're looking at tearing a lot of stuff up. Quote
