So i think im ready for a new shit lever, the rubber tip on the stock one is all but gone, and i missed a few shifts the other day because my mx boots kept slipping off. Kinda pissed me off a little. So i have been looking around and i like the look of the pro design aluminum , my only concern is how do they hold up? The aluminum going over the steel splines seems like it would strip. I tend to be a little rough on my shifter. I also saw a steel one with a folding tip, made by tusk i believe. Anyone have experience with either of these?

You have to think that the aluminum probably isn't "Cast" and it's also sandwiched together by that bolt. You should be fine with the aluminum set up. It's nothing I'd worry about. However, like zwiser said, you can't go wrong with the IMS
