Worn out cages? Do you have a set of stockers you can put in and see if it does the same thing with them?

no i do not have the stock cages, but i have 2 sets of the v forces, when it happened i took the 1 reed cage out and put a whole different reed cage in

So was the replacement set new or had they been used? If they were used, did they get put on facing the same direction as they were removed? If they were used, I wouldn't be concerned, just get a BRAND NEW set and install them correctly. That is the problem with used parts, they are used and are not going to give you the service life that a new part will.

Are you getting any coughing or back firing through the carb. That can break them and suck them in to the engine. It doesnt take much of one to toast a set of reeds.
