252wheelieking Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Everytime I ride my shee for a long time it starts to bubble gas back up through the vent tube. I think it comes from when my engine gets hot, it makes the tank swell & the pressure builds up inside the tank so the pressure has to escape somehow. I could be wrong but that's what it seems like to me. It only does it when I ride it hard as hell around the track after it's really hot. If I let it sit for a while & cool down it don't do it nomore until the engine get's very hot again. Can someone explain to me why this is happening & how to prevent this from happening again. Thanks in advance. Quote
Infamous039 Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 I had this problem before and I ended buying a new gas cap. I purchased one of the billet caps from rockymountainatv.com I believe it had something to do with the vent being clogged and the pressure not being able to release properly which caused the fuel to rise up out of the cap. I would say just replace the cap. Quote

But my shee & my cousin's shee does it around the same time when we ride with the 4strokes......I can blow easily threw the vent tube,so I know it isn't clogged. but that could be the problem....I need a tusk red gas cap anyway to make the shee look even better...... Check the metal ball inside the cap if it's clean. Just remove the 2 screws under the cap and there it is. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 if you do mods to your bike you should think about just disassembling your gas cap anyways and clearing all the vent crap out. my builder told me to take the screws out and then remove the guts so that you could see clean through it......yea i know....it sucks cause if you roll its pouring out or theres a VERY VERY SMALL chance of a little dust getting in there.....but its better than letting your bike starve to death.... sleeper06 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I also drill the caps out on ported bikes Quote
