LS3 Machine Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Im new here, and Im an American Living iin Saudi Arabia for work. I have a new 2009 Banshee, and Ive learned a lot here already. I am coming back to the US for a short Vacation at the end of the month, and I need to come up with a packing list of stuff to bring back over here with me. Parts, and tool and etc. are harder to come by over here. They just don't have anything like a neighborhood Auto Zone if I need Loctite. I dodn't have my garage full of tools here like I do in my home back in Florida, so I will be binging a tool kit back with me, and here is the rest of the stuff I plan on bringing back, please feel fre to give me some pointers on what I might need to add to the list. Banshee Service manual New set of pipes/jetting/filters (upgrading my shee) New set of A Arms/Shocks/rear hub extenders bringing my rear shock over to get revalved Adjustable timing plate (flywheel puller) Bring my head over to get reworked/milled New head Gasket? 170 piece tool kit I guess a 3/8th and 1/4 inch TQ wrench. grease gun (any specific recommendations?) Loctite (what color?) possibly if I can get my motorcycle/ATV lift in a small enough box to bring it over Any other recommendations???? Thanks! Tim 2009 Banshee stage zero Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Chain/cable lube, mix oil if it's not available, bottle of blue/tube of red loctite, tire plugs, spark plugs . Is your employer shipping this or are you? Might make difference getting through customs, not sure you can air freight aerosol cans. Depends how long you're there before you can restock. Spare throttle/clutch cables. Spare grips? Quote

Spare throttle/clutch cables. Spare grips? Thanks for the advice Larry. Your right about the Aerosol.... Not really necessary, as there are some basic stuff available here, like chail lube/cleaner. Same goes for the mix oil. I will definitely take some loctite back over here. Tim Quote
muggzy Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Might wanna bring a replacement air filter and pro-flo adapter? I'm guessing it's pretty dusty over there? unless Yamaha improved that crappy plastic/foam tape filter mount on the newer models, you may get some pretty abrasive dust past that pos. Quote

Thats makes sense. Im actually going to bring back pod filters with the pre-filter sock thingy. Yeah there is plenty of dust here. Thanks, Tim Quote

LS3 Machine Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 anti-seize and an big assortment of jets (main and pilot) a seal kit a gasket kit for a top end compression guage carb sync tool Great recommendations Jereme. I will definitely get those items as well. I found a distributor for Liqui-Molly here (In Bahrain actually), and they have fully synth 2 stroke mix, anti-size, chain cleaner/lube... etc..... I will pick up the other stuff at FAST I guess. Tim 2009 Banshee stg zero Quote

LS3 Machine Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 Clymers manual? Bars? Levers? Definably will do the manual. Do you have aftermarket (Renthal) bars? Whats the big difference between stock and aftermarket? Quote
Glenyboy Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Mine came with renthals on it, just changed to trailtech as I was after 1 piece bar and got a good deal on barclamp, bars and tacho. But to tell the truth bars are a personal thing what's comfortable for me may be uncomfortable for you, both sets are nice though but I do prefer the trailtechs as they are glossy anodised. See if you can get to a shop and have a rough feel of a few sets or if you can get a go on somebody elses. Oh yeah and remember to make sure you get the most up to date manual as some shops still have some old stock laying around, I just got a 1987-2006 one which will cover any change that has been done.
