sleeper06 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 With stock primaries I ran 17-40,in the 1/4 Quote
J-Madd Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Guys with Cubs that I know run 19/38 or 39 in the 8th, and they are out of gear at about 106-110 mph. Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 You would be surprised on how we get our times and it's nothing like your last two posts describe. Quote

SlowerThanYou Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 What size tire's and gearing are you running to hit those speeds? We use between a 2.05 - 2.22 ratio with a 20" tire depending on different factors. Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 We use between a 2.05 - 2.22 ratio with a 20" tire depending on different factors. I meant to also add, there are many other factors to get that speed. Timing curves, dome volume/shape, and shift points, to name a few factors. Quote
sleeper06 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 My best mph was at 16-40 with a 19inch AR Quote

I've never ran asphalt, so I don't really know what's considered a good time (for a 4 mil Cub). My friend's runs 6.1 - 6.3, and the 60 ft is not very good. He said he just has to roll out, then get on the throttle to keep from bogging or blowing the tires off. He's still working on getting the clutch right I'd bet. Quote

This was done with a 1/4 mile set-up on a 330# stock frame, 7mm cub on race gas and a 220+# jockey. Your friends times are good. Quote

I'm even worried to try the 1/8 mile for slight fear of wrecking and/or breaking and wearing the drivetrain and engine. Quote
sleeper06 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Its an addiction just like dirt but clutch plays a huge roll Quote
