03banshee20
does anyone know about the stroker pistons? are they any good? i need things that add power to my banshee i already have plus 4 timing plate and fmf sst pipes and vf3 reeds. i want more out of it. i need help
Jereme6655
You cannot just run stroker pistons. Stroker pistons are designed to be run with a longer stroke crank....such as a 4mm crank. The stroker piston actually has a different location for the wrist pin
gotta_goatsfast
They work really well with a stroker crankshaft...

Pasi S.
(only 99.9%sure) Yes you can if your crank has a 110mm rod´s.
gotta_goatsfast
can you run stock pistons with a 4mm crank? You can with a 110mm rod. But I advise against it because 1. Stock pistons are cast, not forged. The piston speed will be increased because of the longer stroke and it will most likely cause a failure. 2. 115mm rod provides a more reliable rod angle vs. a 110mm rod. Using a stock cast piston with the longer stroke can cause great wear and stress on a cast piston's skirt.
Burt Reynolds
Does anyone produce a stroker piston? I was only aware of the 795's long rod piston.
Jereme6655
the 795 wiseco is the stroker piston. The 513 wiseco is the stock crank piston...
gotta_goatsfast
the 795 wiseco is the stroker piston. The 513 wiseco is the stock crank piston... 795 wiseco pistons are used with a 115mm rod. 513 for use with a 110mm rod. So, you can run a 4mil stroker (with 110mm rod) with 513 style piston or a stock stroke longrod with 795 pistons.
Jereme6655
correct....i was talking in a "on average" view....haha...jsut realized i forgot to put that lol
mopar1rules
The cast pistons will hold up just fine with the +4 stroker crank. A blaster has a 57mm stroke stock and a banshee is 54mm and blaster stock cast pistons hold up just fine. I personally like the pro-x pistons. Burt Reynolds
795 wiseco pistons are used with a 115mm rod. 513 for use with a 110mm rod. So, you can run a 4mil stroker (with 110mm rod) with 513 style piston or a stock stroke longrod with 795 pistons. If you run stock pistons on 110 rod stroker you still need to either cut the head or run a spacer. The 795 is not a "stroker" piston,it is a longrod piston. If you run a 4mil long rod with the 795's you still need a spacer or cut domes. The added 5mm pin height on the 795 is made to compensate for the longer rod,you still have to compensate somewhere else for the added stroke. Even if you run a 795 with a 110mm rod stroker you will end up with negative deck height or the pistons would hit the crank Of course theres lots of crazy setups, and im sure someone has set up something im not aware of Edited March 24, 2011 by Burt Reynolds
