acroadam Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Is there a torque spec for the transmission oil drain bolt? And what trans oil does everyone recommend? I live in springfield mo, so the weather is getting nicer, don't know if that would have any effect on what trans oil to recommend. Thanks. Adam. Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 crank it till it strips. Then back off a quarter turn. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 ummm......ive never EVER seen a torq spec...... just crank it semi-tight to where it wont leak and wont vibrate loose... Quote

acroadam Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 Alright guys..thanks. And is there any other trans oil you like to use? Quote
J-Madd Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 The klotz is good, but $$$$, so is the Bel-Ray gearsaver. You can also use 10w-30 or 30w motor oil. Just make sure it doesn't have detergents in it. I don't know what oil has detergents; I've never seen one. You can use Castrol, Pennzoil, Valvoline, etc. In drag racing we use ATF type F a lot, but you have to change that a lot, and it likes to find any imperfections in the clutch cover gasket and leak, whereas the other oils are thick enough to not leak as bad, or even at all. acroadam Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 Ok...I'll look into bel ray, see if it's cheaper. Quote
