If you have cracked, worn, dry rotted ball joints this may help in replacing the boots and possibly saving you from a failing ball joint and the costly A-arm replacement. First off you will have to order some ball joint boots from somewhere. I got mine form Cascade Innovations for $15. After you get your new boots you will want to lift the front of banshee with a jack or something. Then you will remove the front tires and the tie rods off the spindles. Next you will want to remove the nuts holding the ball joints into the spindle, and then removing the ball joints from the spindle. You will then notice to what i believe is called a spring clip kinda looks like key ring that holds all keys together. I took a pointed finish punch for nails and got it behind the clip and ran it around the inside pf the clip to to remove it and the rubber ball joint boot. Once the boot is removed i cleaned all the old grease out of the ball joint and applied new grease in the ball joint. Now that you have put new grease in you can put the boot on. Since there is lip you have to get the boot over and there is grease on stuff now i used that punch again to help slide rubber boot into place. Now with boot in place you can put the spring clip back on the boot i used the punch again to assist the spring back into place. Since you have successfully got the spring back into place without damaging the new boot you are now ready to put the spindle back on the ball joints and tighten every thing up. There should be pics below for extra help. I did all four of mine in the matter of forty-five minutes to an hour by myself. This is real simple task to do along with it being cheap.

Im wondering how to tell if I'm able to do what you did here and solve my problem?:)

I was moving my banshee around in my garage and when I picked up the front end my ball joint stayed attached to the spindle but my rubber boot ripped and the lower arm fell to the ground:-)lol

My question is,would I be able to solve my problem by replacing the boot as you did here?

The arm isn't cracked or anything and I think it just fell off due to a worn/rotted boot, any help would be highly appreciated, thanks!:)

ummm....no this would not help you fix your bike.....you either need a new ball joint (because yours failed causing it to seperate the spindle and the a-arm) or you need a new a-arm (cracked the a-arm and it let the press-fit ball joint free itself from the a-arm)

either way the ball joint BOOT repair will not help your bike stay together.....you need to do some mechanical repairs...

That's what I'm hearing, also I was told by my mechanic that the ball joint is actually welded inside the arm somehow so it looks like it needs a new a arm!!:)

Does anybody know where I can find a whole set of 4 for a decent price,I would rather just replace them all if I can to not have to worry about it again for awhile:-)

if u were replacing all 4 i personally would get +2.they make worlds of difference in stability even with stock shocks.well worth the price.then get extender studs or a +2 axle for the ultimate package.if ur keeping it stock, that new arm for 60 is a good deal.yeah u can buy used but u might end up having the same problem sooner than u'd like.

Awesome thanks Volcrano,I actually have an extended swing arm and axle already but haven't changed the arms yet but I think I will:-)

Do you have any experience with these RPM +2 arms, they look a little cheap but I'm not sure:)

They also have Full Flight +2's that look a little better but I dont personally have experience with either brand, thanks for any and all help!!:-)

no i havent, i actually i have the wicked arms and they are very well built.they are +1 forward also besides being +2 wide.those rpm did actually look a lil cheap.my buddy had fullflights and the only issue he had was heims squeaking and being stiff as fuck all the time.i did read on here the other day about heim boots,so if u got the fullflights, invest in those too before u even put em on,TRUST ME LOL.
