bansheeman2002 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 ok here is what i have fmf fattys k&n lid on VF3's main 260 stock pilot air screw 1/2 turn out needle don't know shee screams up on the pipe but has a slight hesitation right off throttle it was 40* today so that might have something to do with it or do i need to change something i really need to check out the needles and see what clip they are on im thinkin i need to richin up the needle or do i need a bigger pilot Quote
Larry's Shee Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Most will recomend 27.5 pilot jets with pipes. Has it sat all winter with fuel in the carbs? Might want to clean them. Quote

Might want to clean them. on the Pilots, (stock pilot, air screw 1/2 turn out) you're definitely too lean and maybe you're mains as well. You didn't say what your altitude is but the cold winter air is a LOT denser and needs bigger jets to compensate. Might want to start with 27.5's, needle clips one down from the middle (fourth from the blunt end), and 280 mains for winter riding. For summer riding, leave the pilots and needle alone (a little rich) and just drop your mains two sizes and tweak your air screws. Quote

muggzy Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) ok but idk if my setup would be the same as yours in NY It's not the state. It's the mods, elevation and air temperature. Lower elevation and temps both mean denser air and require larger jets to compensate. Adjust your jets accordingly. Edited February 22, 2011 by muggzy Quote
bansheeman2002 Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Posted February 22, 2011 i think ill just wait till spring and warmer temps i just had the itch to get out and ride it for the first time the other day i think once the temp get around 60-70 it might be ok but i am going to wait and see and get some plugs and do a chop Quote
