atvfreestylekid Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Hey guys, have not been on here in a long time. I was 16 in my last post back in 08. Anyway, My shee blew up about a year ago, and decided to buy a moded 450r rather than rebuild it for a while due to it being more mx friendly. Please forgive me... So needless to say, the 450 is ok, but every time i ride it, I keep missing my shee more and more. It feels like the 450 is sooooo slow. Since, i have been out of the shee business for a while, i forgot quite a bit. What would be the best reasonable top and bottom end rebuild setup. Go back with the 4 mill, stock, stock w/long rod, or bigger stroker? I want it to be more reliable than it was, but i don't know how good i did on the rebuild of the last motor. So, could someone kinda refresh my memory on some strong but still reliable setups? Thanks -Josh Quote
Larry's Shee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) You have to check out the Serval cylinders. Newest thing on the block !! M&M carries it. (Site sponser) How much time did you get on your last build and what let go? Edited February 2, 2011 by Larry's Shee Quote
atvfreestylekid Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 I had about 15-20 hrs on it and it just locked up going down the road about 1/8th throttle in 6th. I never tore it apart due to not being ready to re-build it and did not want parts scattered everywhere and lost. But i think it's a rod bearing again. It threw a rod bearing before due to carb issues. And this time seemed just like last time. But this time the jetting was all good. Quote
atvfreestylekid Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Also, forgot to mention, I plan on new pipes as well. I was thinking some cpi's but still un-sure. I have completely forgot 90% of the pipes available. So if someone could chime in and remind me of the available mid to top end pipes. Any new pipes available since 08? Now that i have the 450 for trails, cruising, and mx, I'm going to turn the shee into a road shreading, sand slingin, arm stretching, ass hauler. Thanks for any pointers. Quote

crustydemon Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Just do a 4mm serval or cub depending on where you want most of your power to hit. As far as new pipes, check out the snipers or new rockets. Just all depends on where you want your power. If you do the serval you can go more of a mid range pipe. Cpi would be good everywhere I think. Quote
atvfreestylekid Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 it's going to be used fore just flat out running in wide open areas, so i'm guessing more mid to top end power. been looking at the 4 mil serval kit and kinda like it. they already ported cylinders? Quote
figjam Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Yes, they're ready-to-go cylinders. As for the pipes. If you want a drag pipe, go for shearer but please do consider the new snipers. look around a bit and you'll only find great info about them Quote
atvfreestylekid Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 ok thanks i'll look into the snipers. I saw an ad on them and read a little. might do some more digging and check them out. still open to any ideas. Quote
