civic594 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Whats up fella's, I might be a ritard... I am not getting fuel in the on position, but it's fine on reserve - took off the tank, petcock out, filters were clean, a little sand / gunk at the base, cleaned it - cleaned the petcock valve (wasn't filthy) - still nothing. Did I skip something easy? Any ideas? Runs fine on reserve... Thanks Tony Quote

Wicked ATV Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Never had that problem. Run it on reserve and call it a day Maybe open your petcock. You'll see the 2 screw on the side cover. Just make sure no fuel in your tank or will make a mess. you see a Seal with 2-holes, Make sure the 2- holes are clear of any debree if any. One is your Reserve and your other is you On position. Also that seal can be damaged and might need to be replaced. Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Remove / clean your petcock internals. They are rebuildable. Take some carb cleaner to the filters while you have it apart. Spray some carb cleaner backwards through the petcock to dislodge any crap in the filters. A better option would be to junk the whole thing and get a pingle. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 believe it or not zilla is totally right.......ive seen this like 4 different times step 1. open beer and hand it to your frustrated friend who can't figure out the problem. step 2. push him out of way step 3. open tank and fill from someones gas tank step 4. turn petcock to ON and laugh your ass off as he looks at you dumbfounded and says "i already check that what the fuck did you do?" step 5. hand him back his empty beer can and say the words....."thanks for the beer buddy" Quote
civic594 Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 I guess it's possible... i'll try it after work, if you don't hear back - I'm a tard. Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Seriously... if you came in here and made a post about this without checking that your tank was full first... Jesus, as least rule out the painfully OBVIOUS stuff before you make a post. Quote

I did, drained about 1/2 tank before i took off the petcock. then i only put maybe 1/4 back in. shouldn't be the problem... but it's a possibility. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 im gonna give him some benifit of the doubt....ive been fucked over by this before. My buddy told me there was plenty of gas in the tank.....shit i cleaned his carbs and wound up pullin the petcock off to clean it....only then did i realize about 1/4 gallon came out of the tank....i coulda thrown him threw the back wall of the garage. yea....now i laugh about it.....but id still think of joy i would have about throwing him through a garage wall....even now. civic594 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Gas was not the problem... May as well get a pingle. Thanks... Quote
