Jereme6655
does anyone know if fmf turbinecore silencers have the spark arrestor built into the tip of the silencer or is it a seperate piece? if it is built in as one piece i was wondering if i could order just the tip and transplant the tip onto my powercore 2 silenecers to make them spark-arrested. I know they wont SAY that they are forestry approved...
sheefreak
I can't answer your question, but I can tell you if they don't say US Forestry approved and you get the wrong Gate attendant, they will turn you around. I had made some spark arrestors internal to a set of CPI silencers I had and they didn't care that it stopped their poker, they turned me away. Jereme6655
i was thinkin of that part too....i wonder if using a stamping set would be able to dupe the evil gate guards...
BigRed350x
Get the spark arrestor made, stamp the forestry approved lettering into the silencer below the factory decal. Make it look professional and they probably won't catch it. If they do, then its back to the drawing board.
shanYE west
The turbine core silencers are USFS approved spark arrestors.. it isn't built into the endcap.. its a 2 chamber system or somethign like that. Its actually part of the silencer construction. EDIT: this is off of FMF's site Our best selling Turbinecore 2 uses the exclusive "Turbine Dampening System". This top-notch product has well earned its U.S. Forest legal status. The straight through design of the spark arrestor canister and the performance flow stainless steel end cap ensures strength, durability and most importantly, track and trail proven unrestricted power. The Turbinecore 2 is the #1 spark arrestor in the world
jbooker82
And the FMF Turbine Core II's are probably one of the best free flowing spark arrestors. They do not use any screens that hamper flow. It spins the exhaust forcing the pices of carbon to break up against the out side wall. A spark arrestor has to ethrie trap pieces of a certin size from exiting the silencer (screen style) or it has to break them up in to small engough pieces. I went from Power Core II's to Turbine Core II's when I was running FMF SST's and didnt really notice a change in power or sound. I would just get the Turbine Core 2's and be done with it.
