ryana1987 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Well its winter here and the engine has a slight knock, might as well tear it apart!... well it wasn't a pretty sight ...im getting a new top half of the engine case because the chain must have broke it before i got it haha , im sending the cylinders to be bored for the new pistons and putting in a new crank and its got a good clutch. I am going to put a new head with 20cc domes for pump gas anything else i should think about? also this is the last bore for the cylinders so unless i got them resleaved it would be a waist to port them correct? anything else i should think about doing while its apart? Jereme6655 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 cases should actually be replaced as a set and not just one piece....the reason for this is they are CLOSE.....but each case was actually machined together as a set. So just a new top half could become a pain in the ass to seal and wind up being way more of a hassle. Also while you've got it apart you might want to think about getting the crank welded.... im not sure about the sleeving with porting thing....ive often wondered the same....im sure someone if not a site sponsor will comment with more knowledgable advice.. shanYE west Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 You can resleeve a ported cylinder.. it just a lil more work since the sleeve has to be matched to the ports. if you are gonna resleeve.. I'd do it before you port it.. Having the extra meat will make things easier. I agree.. the cases should be replaced as a set. Quote

Ill wait about the porting this time then and if i get them resleeved ill worry about the port and polish then, also I was not impressed when i took the reeds out and seen that they were only stock and not the vforce3 ones that i was told that i got....there were words said Quote
Overboost Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 junk it all, send it out and get it stroked into a 4 mil Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 In my opinion.. if your cylinders are that thin that they need sleeved, you might be better off buying a used set cheap. Mike Quote
