WickedWisco Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 my banshee takes like 20 kicks to start i tried cleaning the carbs and that wasnt it. so i figured its low compression. it hit 93 first then 97 from my understanding this is low. would you guys think its just my rings? and is there anything else involving the kick start that might do this. its a 2001 that the previous owner it seems to beat on hard core. and another thing is it seems like my radiator overflow leaks non stop is this common. i hate seeing the smoke come off my pipes when it drips. thanks guys Quote

When you did the compression test did you have the throttle wide open while you were kicking it? did you continue kicking it until the compression guage stopped moving? If it really is 93 then yes its time for a topend rebuild....which sounds about right as at 93 psi you're gonna have a hell of a time gettin it to kick start. Quote

Note to self....bring guage with you when you buy.....or have them do it while on site.....after it is running for a few!! Quote

Reason being is that you are wasting bores , in other words you will fix it less times. Only bore what it takes to make it straight. You gain almost nothing with .040 over .030 bore. JMHO, your results may vary. Quote
