He's A Shee Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Last week I tweaked my frame real bad when a hill climb at Wellsville went wrong. Handlebars, Rear Axle, and Frame are bent bad. Somehow managed to get back to camp! There are a lot of frames for sale on e-bay but I'm concerned with the title issue. If I buy one off e-bay, will they be able to transfer the title? Has anyone bought a bike or frame off e-bay and had any title problems? Most people wouldn't care about the title, but I ride some places that require insurance, tags, and registration. Any insight on this? Quote
NYUK Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 go local. put an ad on craiglist m c section for a banshee frame with title. i have heard many a story about not getting the title after buying a frame on e bay. or buy one from a reputable seller on here. team real tree had one the other day. He's A Shee Posted November 2, 2010 Author Report Posted November 2, 2010 Even if it is a reputable seller, is it possible to transfer titles when your not face to face? Quote
ban99 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 no need to face to face. Like nyuk said, just make sure they are reputable. x2 for team real tree. I have been purchasing stuff from him recently and not one negative thing to say. great communication, prices and shipping. Quote
jasons Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 if you buy off ebay or cland they have a title all they have to do is sign it and send it with the frame to you and you just register it in your name. if they dont have a title ask for a vin and have it ran by your local police before you buy and if its clean just buy it with a bill of sale and register it in your name as a lost title and they will send you a new title. and tell the seller to subtract the cost of the replacement title from the sale price of the frame.
