  1. Thats what I thought. I need some 28PWK's I guess.
  2. Now not to change the subject, but I have another twist to things. I always seem to get some gas back on my air filter (hillclimbing, fuel is always dumping out) Never get water in the box, but could a partially fuel soaked air filter cause these symptoms?
  3. Isn't the rev problem (which seems like a lean condition) due to the stock carb's? I'm having this same problem, so I have been doing a lot of research on it. My airbox is bone stock, and I ride with the snorkel on when its wet. Even if I just barely spash the motor with water the bike will rev up. The one time it stuck full and wouldn't shut off!!!!! In other threads they were saying that the teflon wears off the carb slides and the moisture causes the carb to expand/contract causing a minor stick. I'm about to buy new carbs because I have water proofed everything with red RTV and it still does it. New throttle cable too. Oh, and I used a scotch brite pad on the slides too. Stil Sticks....
  4. So with 28 PWK's, and proper jetting it would ride like a jetski through water, and I wouldn't loose any power low or high? Lookin like it will be about $340 on E-bay from XCBob.
  5. Well I did my research and found out why the throttle sticks when I hit water. I'm not going to piss everyone off and ask "how do I fix this"..... Everyone seems to agree that the easiest fix is to get aftermarket carbs. I know that bigger is not always better especially when you don't have any other major mods done. My question is: What aftermarket carbs would be best for a mostly stock motor? Would I want to get 26mm Klein's? Currently I have a .30 over stock motor, boysen reeds, Uni & Proflow, and FMF Knarlys. I run with the stock airbox & lid and sometimes even use the stock snorkel when its real wet out. Down the road, I don't plan on major engine work (porting/polishing/major boring/ect). It has plenty of power for me. All I do is hill climb and trail ride. Basically I'm just looking to make the bike waterproof by jumping to aftermarket carbs. More low end power would be sweet, but ya can't always get what ya want. Any ideas/suggestions?? Thanks!
  6. Should have listened to you guys from the getgo. Streamline braided brake lines, brakes are PERFECT! I wasn't having any problems with the back one being the stock line, but I got the full kit and did them all. Huge Improvement! Thank You! For anyone reading, Braided Brake lines are a MUST HAVE! I'll post some pic's soon.
  7. Yea I shoulda known. Any particular brand you suggest? Now earlier someone mentioned "dual brake lines". Does this differ from the traditional single line off the MC and Y to the calipers? Well hopefully once I get these, my brakes should be kick ass!
  8. Best place hands down to ride in Ohio is Wellsville. Yes, you will see drunk hillbillys roll their machines down hills quite often, but the hill climbing there is heavenly. Go where ever, do whatever, any time you please.
  9. Yea that would be sweet! I think I need to fab up a water proof box for under there. Or just a box that I could put a tupperware container in.
  10. WINDYCITYJOHN400, whats wrong with saddle bags? Looks aren't everything my friend... I don't want to be able to haul logs around or anything, but the more I can carry, The longer I can be out riding. When you go on 30 or 40 mile treks into the appalachian mountains, and intend on doing lots of hill climbing, you need some luggage. Maybe out in the dunes you don't need any tools, or a drink or anything but around here we climb coal hill, rock shelves, and ride for all hours of the day in the dense forests. Shit breaks quite often. I've found some interesting luggage bags (I.E. tank bags) that they use on enduro motorcycles that would work well. Anyone suggest any certain ones?
  11. I've been looking into alternatives to the six pack rack too. I'm the one that posted about a front rack. I really don't want the six pack cause where I ride its mostly hill climbs and trails so you don't want any additional weigh in the back of the bike. I've found some interesting luggage bags (I.E. tank bags) that they use on enduro motorcycles that would work well. Somebody poked fun at the fact that I wanted to carry some additional stuff with me on my banshee, and said I should get another bike. I don't want to be able to haul logs around or anything, but the more I can carry, The longer I can be out riding. Which in my opinion makes me more hardcore haha. I would be So nice to have the camera, smokes, a few tools beyond the stock kit, tire plugs, can of fix a flat, compass, small container of gas, drink, and some snacks all on the bike. I've traditionally just worn a book bag but It really bothers me to have the weight on my back.
  12. I know that somone (i think trinity) makes a holder that goes under the seat for spark plugs. Anyone ever made or know of a company that makes a storage box that would go down there? There's enough room down there for some decent storage.
  13. Haha welll I do like to carry some luggage, but there's no way I'd want a different quad!! I mostly ride in wellsville, ohio so your climbing hills whereever you go, you get flat tires alot, there are many things that need to be captured via camera, and its nice to have a snack, and a drink, and maybe a 10mm wrench on ya. I've always strapped a small military ammo box to the front bumper, but i'm just looking for a litte more. Wellsville is hillbilly as hell, so the more hillbilly you are, the more you fit right in!
  14. Does anyone know of any front racks that are made for a banshee? I know they make them for some other sport bikes but I can't find one for a banshee. I'm aware of the rear six pack racks, but where I ride I'm always climbing hills and I don't want the weight on the back. Very sick of riding with a book bag and an ammo box wire tied to my front bumper isn't enough storage.
  15. Yea I've already rebuilt the MC. The lines are 11 years old now (shee's a 2000) so I'll try that next. Should I get banshee braided lines, or yfz450 lines? Thank you guys for the imput!
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290529073582&viewitem=
  17. I just ordered a stock one off ebay that was supposedly rebuilt and modded with a bigger bolt and spring. It was from a private seller, but a ebay store that sells hundreds of them. Once I get It I'll tell you how it looks/feels/performs. Then once Its been on for awhile I'll report back and let you know how it held up. Hopefully I didn't get ripped off!
  18. Ok, returning to this thread months later... Front brakes still are terrible. Been wrenching on bike all winter and now have it all back together. Fixing up a few odds and ends. I did add the yfz450 calipers, didn't help too much. I can be riding a decent speed, yank the handle all the way back to the grip and the wheels do not lock up. The adjustment on the lever is correct. I noticed when I was installing them that the stock banshee brake lines are a bit smaller than the YFZ's lines. It was obvious by looking at the banjo bolt. Should I try switching to YFZ lines? Obviously they will hook up to the Master Cylinder and the Calipers, but will they bolt right up to the bike?
  19. I have not tried the White Diamond, but the best I've used so far is calld Flitz. It comes in a metal squeeze tube. I was recommended to use it because its designed for parts that will see alot of heat (i.e. Expansion Chambers). It works beautifully. I was told that mothers and similar products are not designed to remove the heat discoloration (blue tint) that is common on the exhaust system. Flitz actually removes and prevents the discoloration. I even got it to take some some rust pits that had formed on mine!!! Again, any quality product usually comes with a hefty price. The tube was 16.99 for only a few ounces......
  20. Stock airbox is fine. I run with the lid, except you absolutely must pull the snorkel off. The Delrin bearings you mentioned, are those just plastic bearings that take the place of the needle bearings? I looked them up and it seems like an INCREDIBLE deal!! Why spend $160 on Pivot Works Bearings (I have upper and lower... A-arms) when I can spend $20!!! Is this too good to be true?
  21. Cosmetic Gaskets are supposed to be top of the line. Check those out.
  22. Thank you for all the information! So higher compression will result in a better bottom end? Potentially, I could run 110 race gas. I have a gas station right next to my house that sells it. If I were to get a 20cc dome, would I maybe want to mix half and half 93 & 110? ...or would that just be stupid? Shakar, I don't know much about the reeds. All I've heard is that V-force reeds will result in a crisper throttle response. Can anyone verify that dual stage reeds will be better for bottom end?
  23. I ride between 600ft (wellsville, ohio) and 1200ft (youngstown, ohio) above sea level. I plan to run 93 octane. Wellsville Is The Shit. www.wellsvilletrails.com
  24. Preparing for my winter projects. Need some insight on some dome sizing. Did some forum searching on this topic, found a wealth of info on dome sizing but its all related to large cc, highly modded bikes with tons of modifications. Couldn't find what size would be best for a more stock based motor. First off, I currently have a freshly rebuilt, stock compression bike with the excepting of FMF Gnarly Pipes and Power Core II Silencers. I plan on doing a Vito's head, domes, V-Force reeds, aftermarket air box, TORS removal (who wouldn't?), and maybe a timing plate. Nothing crazy. My main focus of riding is extreme hill climbing. I don't intend on making the fastest bike in town, just want a moderate power increase throughout the entire powerband without loosing low end. If anything I'd prefer to gain more low end than mid/top, but with a banshee I realize thats not how it works.. So with this set-up what size dome would be the most appropriate? Are there any other reasonably priced mod's that would benefit my love of hill climbing?
  25. Those fronts on the 'shee are Carlisle AT489 23x7-10. They came with it. Very happy with them. The backs on the other hand are awful. I think a 21" tall rear tire will suit my needs well. I just wish more companies made that size!! I really like the Razr Ballance tires, but they only come in 19" and 20" tall...
