mitty8251 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 welcome to the Banshee family. It is hard to really say without seeing pictures. The shocks are pretty sweet. Is the crank welded and balanced? what kid of pipes? does it have a title? +2+1 A-arms? extended swing arm? Quote
Larry's Shee Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Welcome to BHQ !! Area helps determine value. To your benifit , prices are really down right now. Around me might get $25 - $2800. Quote
Burt Reynolds Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 i never really pay attention to the year of a banshee when im buying. i have seen 05's and 06's that are garbage and 87's that were showroom. 25-2800 is a good price for that one,but they can be had for cheaper. One of my close friends nearby has a really nice 98 with a big bore kit and fmf's for 1600. And my super clean and modded 87 sold for 1500 Quote
leigh moore Posted October 31, 2010 Author Report Posted October 31, 2010 thanks for the replys guy and yea year doesnt mean anything to me when buying cars but with an orginal engine you generally the newer quad will be in better condition bar an older shee being rebuilt how can you tell when it needs to be rebuilt? will the exhaust pressures be down on one side etc?, can you pressure test the cylindars like a car engine?? anyway i have a little more info on the spec hardened and widened axle front may be stock i think im not sure FMF gold series manifolds and FMF system exhaust some kind of lightweight wheels kill switch nerf bars think thats it anyway pics is what we all love to see Quote
06specialedition Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Looks pretty clean. Those shocks are a good upgrade over stock for sure. I bet just those shocks are worth some cash... I bought my 2006 special edition almost two years ago for 4000, it was bone stock and still had the original gas in the tank from the dealership.. the guy before me rode it about an hour or two then decided to sell it. offer him 2500 and see what he says......... its hard to say exactly without looking over the entire bike though. burhead Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 That is a pretty clean bike. I would check all the wearable items, ball joints, chain sprockets, various bushings ect. That always seems to be the things that get me when buying a used quad. I'm a cheap ass so I wouldn't pay 2500 for it, I would start low and go up from there. You can do a compression check just like a car. I would recommend doing it. Quote
