What gearcase/ transmission oil would you use. Is there one better than another? I heard you can use ATF. I have no clue what to use. When I had my TRX250R i just used Pro Honda HP Transmission Oil 80w/85w. What do you recommend? its a 4 mil motor.

Just make sure whatever you get is ok for wet clutches. Regular motor oil has additives in them that eat clutches.

I have been using Golden Spectro 80w gear oil for 20 years and have never had any problems. If you do the ATF most guys say you have to change it a lot.

I tried ATF and the stuff stunk so bad after one day of riding I about threw up. That was some nasty burnt fluid that glazed my clutch frictions and ruined the remainder of my day. I've always used Belray gear saver and had great experience with it until trying ATF. Honda has some good motorcycle trans oil too.

I do't know what kind is in there now. Once I drain out the old, is there anything else I need to do? Or should I go ahead and just add the new oil? I heard you don't want to stick with one brand and not to change oils. Is this true?

I keep it inexpensive and roll with ATF Type F. I JUST changed the fluid out of my drag bike (it does have a lockup) but the fluid was like brand new. I just stick with it,

I have useda gear saver which is great but a waste of $$ IMO, or I have used 10-40 or 10-30 with great success as wekk,

how many MORE times can someone ask this same exact question?

I am amazed this thread has not been bashed already for being redundant?
