knelson Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Building a project bike and I've came to the wiring which is nothing comlicated really, but I have noticed coming out of the cdi there is a green wire with a yellow stripe...for the life of me I can't find it on the schematic. does anyone know what it's for? sleeper06 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Dont worry, that wire is not used on certain year bikes, you probably have a stator from a newer year, its an ignition safety wire Quote
AKheathen Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Dont worry, that wire is not used on certain year bikes, you probably have a stator from a newer year, its an ignition safety wire haha, ignition safety....never heard the perk brake limiter called that before.... Quote
bansheesandrider Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 The green/yellow wire is the park brake rev limiter wire and is only on 97 and newer bikes. It comes from the CDI box, not the stator and goes to the clutch lever, techically the park brake part of the clutch lever. Quote
knelson Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 ok, so leave the red/black, the black/white, and the green/yellow unhooked and nothing should kill the spark. This is what I'm working on. http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/4365/imag0124hq.jpg Quote
AKheathen Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 holy shit, lol.........anyway, ground the red/black to make it run(keyswitch wire) and the black/white is your killswitch wire that you ground to kill. Quote
