Larry's Shee Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Do a little search ,most will advise AGAINST single carbs , you can't make as much power with one huge carb as opposed to two small er carbs. Quote

Deffinity go as big as you can. But i would personally stick with a 34 or 35mm double carb set up. Quote
MilleniumPerformance Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) I have had a customer with a very similar build to yours and he, as well, inquired about the same "sinlge-carb" setup. I had a few different carburetors lying around that we actually tried on the bike to see what was in-fact a better fit for his desired riding style. We started out with a 34mm Keihin PJ carburetor, we found that it performed surprisingly well on the bottom, but fell off on the mid-top end range. Next we tried a 36mm Mikuni carburetor, and like-wise, performed similar to the PJ on the bottom, but really fell off in the middle. We then tried a 38mm Lectron carburetor and it outperformed the previous carburetors by a long-shot. As a side note - we spent nearly an hour for each carburetor trying to tune it for best performance in each area of throttle position and vehicle speed, what I am trying to say is - what may seem like a failure, may actually be the key once it is tuned or "dialed" in. Hope this helps. Edited September 20, 2010 by MilleniumPerformance Quote
