ok guys i need some major help!! this past weekend i was riding trails, and when i stopped, i went to kick my bike to go riding again the kick starter got jammed. so we went to tow it and i could get it into nuteral but the started was still jammed. we made it back and put it gear and started rocking it and it broke free! i asking u guys, what would cause that? is this an early sign of trans. problems? or was it jus one of those this that happen. my bike is a 2001 all stock.

Starter idle gear bushing, fix before you ride again !!Total failure may be costly !!

Drain your oil pull your clutch cover off you will see the bushing on the shaft pull it off and put a new one in there is a big spring in there to pull your kick start back up make sure it goes back on right i put mine on wrong and ended up pullin my back apart its a real simple thing to do i just had mine apart a couple of days ago could had some pics for ya get a new clutch cover gasket as well

flip the bike on its side, put a block under the handle bars. Wont have to drain oil + its a whole lot easier to work on.

I would drain the oil you had a bind with metal to metal i would drain just in case there was any metal flake or any bit of metal that coulda came off in the binding of the gear.... probably wouldn't hurt for an oil change anyways

But see my kickstarter was up in position. it just wouldnt move down like when you go to start it. i tried as hard as i wanted to, i didnt wanna break anything but like i said we rock the bike back and forth then it broke free and it started working fine again.
