sandman1 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I'm getting tired of buying parts for my damn Banshee!! I just bought a new flywheel, stator and coil because my flywheel broke and took out my stator. When it happened it shorted out the stator and it smelled burnt. I instaled all the parts and still am getting no spark, so I put on another CDI still no spark. I checked my kill switch with my meter and is working. What else could it be? I thought I covered everything that has anything to do with making spark? HELP PLEASE!!! Quote

volcrano Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 same thing happened to me i replaced everything it could be a melted wire in the harness. Do u have tors system on it?disconnect the brain box on frame over left pipe and cut the wires to parking brake if they are still connected to parking brake plunger and try that.if that doesn't work give more info on factory bike or mods that have been done to anyhing electrical besides what uve already replaced.hope this gets u in there. sandman1 Posted September 4, 2010 Author Report Posted September 4, 2010 Nope the TORS is long gone. I'm gonna go test all the new parts with my meter and see if they sent me a bad part. Other than that I think it might be a bad wire somewhere. Quote
kpennepacker Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 How about the pick up coil. Maybe replace that and check the gap. Mine had that problem. I used a buisness card to set the gap between the lugs on the flywheel and the pickup coil. Quote
ATV Shineray Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 The faster way is to find someone with oscilloscope that can check how many Volts comes from the new stator. Quote
sandman1 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Report Posted September 9, 2010 I figured out the new stator was wired wrong. We had tochange two wires in the plug. So if anyone buys a stator from RM stator, be sure and check that the wires are in the right place. Quote
