All right.....I AM goofin around a little. I used to work at Metal Tech years ago and this was one of the earlier triple cases Jeff (the owner) started. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the bare cases to feed my own personal insanity......,

I will be building it up this winter though. My intentions are a 4mil crank with 90degree seperation. I MAY go with a monoblock CP cylinder( if funds allow) but my ultimate intention is to recycle and/or modify as much of the motor as I can from take off or used parts whenever possible. I don't expect it to be a cheap project by any means, but my funds are very limited. I do have a decent machine shop here so I will be trying to fabricate as many parts as I can myself as well. The finished motor WILL be going in a street bike frame.....sorry....maybe an old TZ frame.

If you guys are interested I would love to do a photojournal blog type thing for ya to follow.... Just don't expect any rapid progress.

sweet, man.......just one thing- why 90 degree crank on 3 cyl? i'm not experienced on it, but it sounds to me that it would be more of an imballance (like a 4cyl with a dead hole) than help with torque. i understand plenty about running a 90 on a twin, though. mabey a 120*?

I will be playing around with balance, but that is not the main reason for the 90* crank. I plan on keeping a bit of a nostalgic look for the finished bike. I will be running modern 17" sport bike radial tires, but I plan on running spoke rims and fairly narrow tires(by modern standards at least...LOL). No fat 190mm tires on this bike. The limiting factor for whatever power I make is going to be traction!! Since a 90* crank fires both cylinders in rapid succession it gives almost a pause between firings to regain or keep traction. A little tire spin on a Banshee is no biggie....tire spin on a 2 wheel bike when you are laid over in a turn will put you on yer ass real quick though!!!

Even in a straight line it will probably be a challenge to keep the bike hooked up.

There is A TON to be gained in balancing as well when it comes to the basic Shee crank though....

One of the nice things about being into banshees as well as their street driven cousins (RD's and RZ's) is bouncing around different message boards. If you haven't already....check out some of the wild stuff these guys are doing:
