35thLS1SS19 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Hey guys. i put pipes on my bike and re jetted, ran fine for a few months. Recently i need to dump a lil fuel into the carb to get it to start. Only if it sits for a week or so. So i was told on here last time to bump my pilot jet which i did. Also re jetted for warmer air. I am back to the same problem. It will only start with a lil fuel in the carb, then will start first kick for the next 3-4 days, but if it sits any longer got to add fuel again. I am lost! i don't no where to look? Also when it does start it revs real high almost like the choke is on, till i let the clutch out then it will come down and stay idling normal. Any ideas? thanks guys! Quote
Larry's Shee Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I would start by cleaning carbs one at a time, make sure choke tube is on. Inspect carb boots and do air leak test. Does it rev up on each and every start-up, wether you "primed" it or not ? Rev-up might besticky throttle cable or slides. Quote
brugal Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Sounds like fuel isnt getting to the carbs properly. Pull the fuel line at both carbs and put them in a glass or something. Turn the fuel valve on and see if it has a good flow. Quote
sleeper06 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 How is your compression, def check for an air leak Quote
