i have a 87 banshee with

mild port work done

toomey t3 pipes

v force 3 reeds

borded 4 over

28mm kehin carbs with knn filters(pods)

just want to know a good starting point for these carbs. main jet, needle, # of turns for the air screew, and the pilot jet.

the carbs have in them right now, 185 main, needle is stamped with a j on it, the pilot is a 58 n the air screw is 2 turns out. the quad runs perfect until i put into gear, just bogs right out n then nothing. played a little around n moved the the clip on the needle, n just need a better opion for these carbs.

Your way off on the jetting! I'm trying to get a set of 28s dialed in right now for a buddy. Hes got t5s, k&ns, and some sort of port job. Right now hes at 155 mains, and 48 pilots. I can't help you out on the needle just yet, we haven't made it that far.

I have a similar setup and I'm at 155 on mains 50 pilot and needle clip one position lean from the middle. I think I'm really close but going to 48 pilots next.

Around 1000ft Mods are fast racing dune port, t5s, timing plate+4, 28pwk pods, stock cages aftermarket reeds, cool head 21 cc domes. I'm a little fat on my pilots she will fire up without the choke in in two or 3 kicks.
