Same old question

I know this has been gone over and over and over. However each person has had their own set of questions and concerns. I know everyone has their opinion on what's best.

 

My setup

 

.40 over

ported and polished

stock mikuni carbs

fmf golds with power core 2

pro design kit with foam filter

open air box

14/41 gearing

21 7r10 on the front

20x11-9 on the back (goin to be going up to a 21in)

 

 

I mainly ride trails. I do race every once in awhile but it's the goofing off kind.

I ride with my wife and 4 other people. I ride against a blaster (wifes), 300ex, polaris outlaw, Yfz 450, and a Suzuki lt400.

I can take all of them even in the trails once I get into 3rd. I am looking for more bottom end and can't think of where I should start.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Do a cool head with some 20 or 21cc domes, and a timing plate set at +4.

Now, you say that you can take them once your in third gear. Is it because your spinning a lot or your just going through the gears really fast

Spinning alot. 1st and 2nd I mainly just spin in 3rd the front end raises and I can go.

What kind of tires you looking to get? I'm running the GNCCs from ITP. They hook pretty good.

Most guys are going to say I'm screwy for saying this, but, I actually like running 15/41 gearing on my banshee. I ride a lot of tight woods and mx.

I was thinking holeshots or razr 2s.

I been looking at the knock off holeshots also.

Holeshots just don't hook well on banshees. Razr2s are kind of heavy in my opinion but they do hook well and last awhile. My GNCCs hook great and are light but they wear fast

I'll have to look into those. I am looking to pick up a cool head and the timing plate. Also debating on if 28 mm carbs would help at all

I had 28 pwks on mine. I loved them. Much better throttle response and more top end.

As far as suspension goes. Where I ride has a narrow gate to get in as is my back tires hit as I ride in. So on the front I'm going to try the 1in spacer bolts.

I love my shocks as is. The only other thing I want to do is maybe an anti-vibe and fly bars

I really wouldn't do the spacer bolts. If anything just flip your tires. Its a shame you can't get some +2+1 arms and some shocks. It makes a huge difference. The arms, shocks and axle were probably the best money I spent on my banshee. After that it would have to be my 4mil setup.

i agree with the 20 or 21cc domes and +4 timing, but the t5's are a mid/top pipe i think you would be better off with pro circuit platniums,paul turner mids,or fmf gnarly's and you could always get a decent mx/trail port

I didn't even think of flipping my fronts. Got to have my valves shortened

ive always heard that flipping the fronts would increase bump steer

What are some of u other guys running for gearing. I am looking at a 15/42 setup with x ring chain
