Vinnie_D Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Hi I'm rebuilding a Banshee, i'm going with wiseco HP pistons, 0.25 over stock, stock carbs rejeted with 280 or 300 mains, custom air box lid and DMC Alien pipes. Since i'm way too far (Portugal) to have my cylinders ported by a professional, i'm only going to smooth out and sharpen the intake ports, and open a bit the exhaust port. I'm thinking about also going with a cool head, but i have no idea about what domes should i use... Can you help me? Quote
mopar1rules Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 What's your elevation and riding temps, cause your main jet choice sounds a little lean to me. Also, the domes to run depends on the octane of fuel you want to run. What fuel you plan on running? Quote

Good questions, we allways ride at sea level here, and our best fuel is european 98 octane, wich i think would be equal to your 92 octane. Quote

firebanshee Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 also, what is your bore diameter? I think he said 0.25 over stock bore in his first post. Quote
AKheathen Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 well, i would go with 20's, or mabey 19's depending on the exhaust height. Quote
vbanshee Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 well, i would go with 20's, or mabey 19's depending on the exhaust height. i run 19's never had a problem with them but have to run race gas (according to pro design) Quote
AKheathen Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 i ran 20's on 90 oct. for a while, then went with +5.5 timing, so bumped the oct. a bit. it is possible to run 19's on 93, but a little risky, and with near stock bore. however, when you port the exhaust, you loose a little compression. it's not what you measure cranking, but dynamic compression, so anywhere from 150-180. it really depends on the specific setup.
