I have a few questions for you experts.

1- Is there a good place online for OEM as well as aftermarket parts? I'm looking for somewhere with decent prices and a good honest reputation

2- Can any give me info on transmition maintenance? Like what to put in it so on and so forth, I didn't see this info in the technical section

3- Ok you guys will hate me for this one but any info on 4 stroke conversions. I am use to 4 strokes and not sold on the 2 strokes yet. I like to put around more than anything and am afraid I will just burn up the motor riding the way I like to. Thanks for the help.

1) Use the site sponsors for everything. If you can find it somewhere online, odds are one of our sponsors can get it for you. Also a very important thing to remember, don't try to pinch pennies buying shit. It will end up costing you in the long run with these bikes.

2) Buy a Clymers Manual. I personally run Honda 85wt gear oil. Simply because they were smart enough to put the little spout on the top of the bottle. :jesterlaugh:

3) You should be ashamed for considering a 4 stroke conversion. LOL. I know it's been done, but I'm not too sure on how successful it ended up being. If you just want to putt around, you bought the wrong bike. You won't burn up the motor, but as with any two stroke, you'll be changing plugs quite frequently if you're never hitting the powerband. On that note... the YFZ450's are coming down considerably in price. Might be able to find someone who would take it on a trade + cash.

Not to bite the hands that feed me so to speak I would love to use site sponsors, after all that why they are sponsors but the last place I did that for my pocket bike really screwed me. After complaints to the FTC, AG and a local police report they finally sent me the parts. Thats why I asked. I want to use one that has a track record for being honest. I am not worried about or plan on pinching pennies. I just dont want to use a place that charges 8 times more than everyone ells for the same parts. I will go out and get a manual, that's a good idea. Ujtill then I wander if the plain old 8090 gear oil I use in my truck will suffice.

Now the big no no question. If I went out to buy a quad no way would it be a 2 stroke. My last one was a 4 stroke and I loved it. This want I just happen to aquier in a triad. The fastest I have gone thus far is about half throttle in 3rd gear but mostly low throttle in 2nd gear. You dont think this would cause excessive heat or any other problems with the motor? I absolutely love the thing but worry about it being a money pit from the repairs because of how I ride. Thanks a million for the help.

As I said I am not worried about paying for good parts. I am worried about paying for over priced parts thought.

I too ride 4-poke dirtbikes, 08' KX450F, but the shee is in a league of its own. With the mods in my sig and the trail/logging road riding I do I had to stop there, thing is wicked! Now onto the drag shee' project..... :headbang:

Haven't really seen any negitive talk about site sponsers. Alf44 is working hard to get what people need at good prices. DO NOT use that 80-90 gear oil in your transmission. Way to thick and you might eff it up. Probably shift hard and might burn clutch up. Might do some hard thinking about even keeping the Banshee from the litttle bit I've read in your posting. Almost like a U.A.W. worker driving a Hundia , Ford lover in a Chevey , oil and water. JMHO , your results may vary. BTW , don't matter 2 or 4 stroke, parts aren't cheap, go fast parts are even more.

I am not to interested in going fast as much as I am in going and making it back to camp. I am taking the Banshee out to the off road park again tomorrow. Who knows maybe it will grow on me.

ALF44 I looked at your site but saw no list to peruse, Should I just message you with what I need then await a quote?
