bansheex666 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I have two problems. one, after a little while riding my quad heats up and coolant leaks on my right pipe. and if i put coolasnt in the overflow it pors out almost immediatly. it also pours out of i stand it on its ass. im guessing thats a bad resevoir line? the other thing is I have a blown rear bearing. how hard is it to replace? like tkaing the axle out and whatnot. thanks in advance! VictorK Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Your gonna need to pin point the leak, as for the bearings, take the link off the chain, pull the left wheel/hub off the axle, take the 2 axle nuts off, slide the sprocket and the hub its bolted to off, unbolt the rear caliper, slide the axle through the carrier. now you take the bearings out, I use a big worn socket extension I have tapping the bearings out from inside on the opposite side Quote
pr0blumz Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) I had the same problem with coolant leaking onto the right pipe after the bike had warmed up. I too thought it was a leak. I found out the fluid was coming from the overflow tube that's zip tied to the frame behind the radiator. I stopped refilling my coolant tank after that and haven't had that problem anymore. No overheating either Edited May 29, 2010 by pr0blumz Quote
bansheex666 Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 thanks for the axle write up, and after a while no matter what it still leaks a little. ill hafta take it apart and see Quote
AKheathen Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 sounds like your coolant bottle lines may be backwards. pull them off the bottle and blow through them. one will have a little resistance, and the other free. the one free-flowing goes to the top, and the one with a little pressure goes to the bottom, or you can remove the rad caqp and feel which one blows where the cap goes- that one goes to the bottom. make sure your coolant is in good condition and cap is not rotted. there is a little one in the middle of the cap where the coolant flows back in when it cools. dajogejr Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Unless you're drag racing at a track and are required to have a catch can for coolant, get rid of the overflow bottle and put the hose down to the ground. Quote
