randomrider Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 i own a 2000 banshee and everytime i go ride; about 30 minuets into the ride my banshee starts to die and when i give it more gas it just makes it worse almost like it bogs it down. i then have to wait 10 to 30 minuets to start it again. to me it almost seems like its flooding itself but i could be totally wrong and it could be starving itself or something not even close to what i think. does somebody have any ideas? maybe jets or needle? 98_shee Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 What are you mods, jetting, elevation, temp? What do your plugs look like? Do a compression test on it. Quote
ban99 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 what do your plugs look like when it happens, are they wet? This will sound crazy, but we had a bike with the same simptoms. We ripped that bike appart for two days only to find out it was a blocked breather on the gas cap. When it was running it would build up negitive pressure in the tank eventually not even allowing the fuel to run. Quote
randomrider Posted May 17, 2010 Author Report Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) it is ported with stock carbs, shaved head, k&n filter with with open box, t5s, its about 70 degrees average right now, 2,500 ele. compression is good. yes the sparks are wet w i pull them after it dies thats why i think its flooding. it has also done this just sitting their idling... ill have to go check the jetting, i cant remember what i had in their from last summer dune trips. thanks ill check the gas cap too Edited May 17, 2010 by randomrider Quote
