k i have a stocker that wont fire right on the choke side. everything is stock except for the tors removal. i have checked compression at 115 both sides, checked all electrical, new gas, new plugs, cleaned carbs several times and still have the same issue. i have switched plug wires and that cylinder is still funky. it only fires everynow and again. keep in mind its all stock. 500ft elevation also. 32 to 1 mix. any ideas that i have overlooked here? thanks.

make sure your carbs are both in sync. also check your pilot jets, it don't take much to plug one up,also how does it start when motor is cold hard or easy?

Make sure ALL your jets are clean, that you have the float bowls on the correct carbs, the choke tube between the 2 carbs is in place.the slides are in the correct carb correctly, the carbs are synced. The left float bowl is different from the right float bowl. Also, check for bad reeds and if it still doesn't run right, then you need to do a leak (pressure) test.

everything stated above other than a leakdown test has bent done and are correct. will try the leakdown when i get a chance. also the choke side piston seems to move more than normal in the cylinder. it also took a few extra kicks to get the compression up than the other side. would that make a difference even though it stopped at 115 psi?

sounds like a bent crank and a spun bearing i would rebuilt it before :o it goes boom.

NO UR WRONG.. A BENT CRANK WILL NOT GIVE U PISTON PLAY IN A CYCLINDER./.. WORN OUT RINGS WOULD.. OR AN OUT OF ROUND BORE ALSO.. MOST LIKELY U WILL HAVE TO BORE 1 SIZE UP.. CHECK UR RODS FOR EXXCESSIVE FREEPLAY UP AND DOWN AND LEFT AND RIGHT. AND YES BAD

"BOWED" REEDS WILL CAUSE A LOW COMPRESSION ISSUE.. THINK OF IT, UR REED IS UR INTAKE VALVE AND IF DAT DONT SEAL RIGHT U AINT MAKIN NO COMPRESSION...... GIVE A A GOOD LOOK OVER LEAK CHECK IT DATTL TELL U PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING,.,.

check that stock starter plunger. bet its pulling gas in while its running, swap carbs around, bet it changes sides....

i know its not a crank issue. reeds are possible ill check them when i get a chance. i know it needs a new topend soon but it should still run. it ran great in the fall when winterized and now it wont run for shit so its gotta be a fuel or air problem.
