AN OVERRIDE TRANS HAS CUT GEARS TO ENABLE YOU TO QUICKLY SHIFT THRUOGH THE GEARS AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE,WITHOUT THE CLUTCH. ONE DRAW BACK IS, YOU CAN'T DOWN SHIFT.

Copied and Pasted from different thread.

This is not correct. You can still down-shift. With a regular override you have to pull the clutch and wait till you come to a complete stop and then downshift. With a duneable you can back-load it to a certain extent but it will wear on it.

So for all intensive purposes you CANNOT downshift. Having to come to a complete stop is not downshifting in a sense that will do you any good. And wearing out the purpose built gears doesnt make sense either.

So I would be able to keep the gas pinned and shift gears with no clutch? If I used the clutch I still couldn't down shift and I would have to slow down a lot to down shift?

If he gets a duneable they can be backloaded up to like 6 or 7k rpm's. So it can be downshifted. End of story.

I don't think I want a over ride then I'm thinking my shee will end up with around 70HP since its not a drag or dune bike only open field, trail, and friendly drag bike and as far as the tranny I have a shift star already Ill end up getting a lock out clutch and shift shaft mod I was gonna get the trinity shift drum as well but I've heard a lot of bad things about other trinity stuff so I don't know

A duneable over-ride trans is one of the best mods i have ever done to my bike, if you don't have one you will be at a BIG disadvantage cause alot of guys have them. You can downshift and backload a duneable.

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong,I can up shift on the gas with out clutching with the duneable over ride and no damage will occur plus I can also down shift but not as well as with a regular tranny? Can I ride using the clutch as if I have a stock clutch if I choose? A thorough description would be nice as I'm trying to understand how it differs from stock and all I'm gathering is I can bang gears like I have a centrifugal clutch on the gas but down shifts like crap I need my final product to be fast but I have to be able to shift in all situations which includes down shifting in and out of corners quickly and also on hill climbs I often have to click down a gear to keep it in the powerband I'm putting thought in to a hydrolic clutch but I've had my shee for less then 2 months and I want to learn and understand all mods before I make a final decision on how my build will end up

1-5 Duneable. Still not sure is a duneable is suited for someone that rides a lot of trails, but there are others that know a lot more than I.
