MatHolland Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Allright, i just got my banshee together, well now my stator is out, and another one on the way thanks to alf. anyway, I was adjusting on my carbs with the tors elimination kit, forgot to tighten the nut, and one rattled out :/....can i just use a bolt with the same thread, or does it have to be that special bolt that don't have threads on the other half? Also, whats the specs on that bolt if i can do that? Quote
overrevtricky Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I would buy another. they arent expensive. I wouldnt trust a standard screw because of the taper for on the one end for moving the slide up and down. just what I would do! Quote
Mjv420 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 The idle screw like mentioned is rounded at the end which is responsible for moving the slide up/down. Im pretty sure I have 1 idle screw for that carb laying around if you want it. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 If you use a regular bolt, you have to grind the threads off the end of it and put a rounded nose on it. When my carbs were done the holes for the bolts got drilled to big and I had to make my own screws out of 1/4 inch bolts instead of the 6mm ones they sre supposed to be, I used a lathe to take the threads off the end of the bolts and to round the nose. Except for the hex head on the bolt they looh like Mikuni parts. Quote
