So Cal Suspension Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Hey i am looking at some pipes for my shee. I'm a young and dumb kid, and i want some pipes that are pretty loud. Can anyone tell me what pipes are pretty damn loud? You could just do what they do with cars and cut the mufflers off. Quote
AKheathen Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 well, every pipe will be loud as shit if you bypass the silencers and go stingger style, but may run like shit and cost power. all pipes are silenced in a way that imporves power everywhere below wot in the powerband. what you want is some high dollar drag pipes that exit around your feet either one side or both. you will gain heaps of peak power and and awesome ass sound, such as eminates from the drag strip, and the pipes aren't made to sacrifice a little peak for some lowend. you're gonna ride that thing ballz-out anyways. ClimbAnyHill Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 2 stroke pipes sound badass with increased compression. What pipes and mods are you running now? Quote
bansheesandrider Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Loud does not = fast. All loud pipes do is piss EVERYBODY off, riders and nonriders alike. And that leads to more riding areas getting closed. I have seen bikes that were extremely loud get their ass kicked by a bike you could barely hear. Do everybody a favor and get some decent pipes and silencers and maintain them. Unmuffled drag pipes only belong in one place, THE DRAGSTRIP! Quote

jasons Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 yah i dont wanna mess with the pipes and loose power, i just want a loud pipe that i can buy without messing with it imho all 2 stroke pipes are loud enough. and i have to agree with bansheeandrider loud pipes will lead to areas getting shut down. and some areas even have noise db restrictions. might want to reconsider this loud ass pipe idea. just my 2 cents do what you want. papa_smurf49319 Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Shearer inframes are a nice loud pipe that offers great performance! Quote
Pasi S. Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 and im just running stock pipes atm I know what you are talking about. I was in that same situation last summer. I was using stock pipes back then. Stock pipes doesn´t even sound like a 2 stroke and I wanted a real RING-DING-PING sound. Any aftermarket pipes will give you what you need - 10 times louder than stock. I have T-5´s and they sound good and are loud IMO even with the new packing in the silencers. Pod´s, better reeds, porting and compression makes it even better sounding. -Pasi S. Quote

The tree hugger types are out in the woods all the time and you won't see them, but they will HEAR you and start pushing for land closures, unles of course you are on land that you own. The noise can sometimes travel for miles, depending on the terrain and piss of people that you had no idea could hear you. AND THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OUT THERE ARE PROBABLY THERE FOR THE PEACE AND QUIET, so you will really make them mad. Also, if I was your dad, I would not want to listen to your loud bike , so I would probably take you riding less. Don't get me wrong, I like a good preforming pipe, but you don't have to be loud to make power. As I said before, I have seen some loud bikes get their ass KICKED by quiet bikes. Quote
06specialedition Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 My CPI Inframes are pretty loud without going to Out of Frame type Quote
