andrew3160 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I was wondering if it is possible or anyone has drilled a one inch hole in the clutch cover so they can adjust the pancake bearing on the fly. I was thinking that the round cover that is mounted on the clutch cover could have some sort of rubber seal to keep the fluid from leaking out. Any ideas? Quote

Once you have it adjusted properly (you can check it with the cover off) i don't see the need to adjust it on the fly. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 yup did that to mine when i got it, works flawlessly and never had it leak at all! Quote

I thought I did but it still lunges forward when I shift sitting still. Are the Clutch plates supposed to have a little bit of slack in them when the clutch isnt pulled. Because that is not the case at the moment. Quote

- DUNNY - Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 both of my bikes had the whole drilled in the clutch cover so you could adjust the screw on the pancake bearing, never had any problems with leaking, with the stock clutch insert, or an aftermarket one. i recently put a new polished stock side cover on my new build and am kicking myself for not drilling a hole so i could adjust it easier. i can get pictures tomorrow of my one bike with the holes drilled, its not very pretty and i didnt do it, but it works great. Who cars if it looks pretty. The round cover that goes on to the main cover will hide the hole if we are thinking the same. Quote

Did you put a gasket or some sort of rubber ring to keep it from leaking? Quote
pondtunes Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 My stock round yamaha cover has a rubber gasket of sorts behind it, i was sad to learn that there was nothing behind this cover.. The next time I have my cover off i'll be drilling a hole in it. I had some shifting issues and had the entire clutch cover off twice quite annoying to drain the oil just for a simple adjustment trying to dial it in. Quote

Did you put a gasket or some sort of rubber ring to keep it from leaking? the stock cover has a big rubber piece behind it made to fit the stock clutch cover insert perfect. my aftermarket insert, had a rubber oring on the back to keep it sealed.
